One of the other amazing trips I got to take while working at CERN this summer was to Zürich, Switzerland.
The city has it’s own mountain with a great look out, restaurant, and even a hotel at the top! To get there, you take the train to Uetliberg, and climb for about ten minutes before you reach the top. On the way, you pass by the Planet Trail.
Laid out in a scale of 1:1 billion, the path of planets enables a comparison of the sizes and distances in the solar system. A meter of the model corresponds to one million kilometres in the real solar system.

We were headed to the lookout at the top of the mountain and so we only saw the rocks marking the first three planets. We would have loved to walk the entire solar system, though! If you do the full hike down the side of the mountain, it takes two hours! If you ever get the chance to visit Zürich, definitely check it out!
