The Physics Club is a social club at the University of Windsor that is open to all students with a passion for physics. I joined the executive team as Treasurer in 2012-2014, and was elected President in 2014-2015.
From Science Society’s Welcome Week BBQ, to campus tours and community events like the Children’s Festival, we made science fun, accessible, and educational through demos like the Fire Tornado and the Meissner Effect. We held various social events like a Murder Mystery and a Pictionary Tournament, we created intramural sports teams, and held tutoring sessions. We even made a Welcome Week video for first year students!
For the Windsor Welcome Week Celebration we fashioned Einstein moustaches and wrote physics equations on UWindsor-coloured balloons. The relatively small physics department definitely stood out at the Welcome Event, and everyone had a blast!
SCIENCE OUTREACH DEMOS

We also do a lot of outreach through demonstrations! From Science Society’s Welcome Week BBQ, to campus tours and community events like the Children’s Festival, we’ve been making fun science accessible and educational.
SOCIALS
In March 2015 we held a Pictionary tournament! The event was a great success – with 11 teams competing for the title. Congratulations Dan and Anthony who took first place!
In October 2014 we hosted our first ever Murder Mystery party on Devil’s Night! We had a great turn out from all of our physics students, and even some of the faculty! Our theme was Murder at the Juice Joint, and everyone’s costumes were amazing.
TUTORING SESSIONS
During the 2014-2015 school year we also put together a bunch of organized tutoring sessions. Our fantastic volunteer tutors created exam material and advertised for 2-in-1 tutoring and review sessions (with pizza!). They worked through typical exam-level questions and worked with the students one-on-one. I helped to advertise by creating posters like these!
